that setup came off a Hiyabusa bike.....but im looking for somewhere that sells things like that.......motorbike engine parts and carbie jets, etc.etc.
im thinking bout either going 4-throttle on my BP, depending how easy these jets are to get......
if i cant, then im forced to go Microtech LT8.....
the price for peformance is what im looking at..... |

| How difficult is it to get 5fwd gearbox setup on my car?? How much will it cost (approx.)?? I'm trying to weigh the cost of repairing the tranny or replacing the tranny as opposed to going manual. |

| computerman, i would budget $3500, this would include all parts & labour. you may get it in for less, depending on the price you would pay for the gearbox, as well as perhaps you wont need as much parts as my conversion would. |

computerman> a gearbox is likely to run u about $1500-$2000 a good working tranny which is like hardass to fine especially in good condition will run about $3500 up, but daiz based on MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I would rarther a box cause damaged parts can be replaced easily i.e clutch & pressure plate as opposed to a good tranny job which will run u in the couple hundreds.
BTW driving in traffic with a clutch is not so bad, I though it would be horibble and my leg would seize up but, I seldom have to change as i pull of in 2nd and build. Manual in traffic is just like auto especially when u have a friendly clutch (NO COOPER). Just takes some getting used to |

ummm...a 5fwd box for the E5 costs u about 400$.....axles about $250 a side.. flywheel, clutch & PP no more than 600 an we'll include the clutch cable with that...
shifter links should run u about 100....
so thats...$1600......and u could do it yourself with a hydraulic jack, 4 TCL bricks, 10,12,14,17,19mm sockets with a 3/8 extension!!! oh and a friend!!!! unless u wanna play hulk...it is possible to do it by yourself though.... kinda |
