hey, i got front shocks (munroe) for the mazda 3 from jurawans. they cost $400.00 per side.
Have been searching all over for these but only some other brand available that I have never heard of. No tokico, no kyb. |

^^^ Thanks anyway. So did you install them yet? How's the ride?
For anyone else looking for shocks for the Mazda 3, apart from Jurawans I also found them at Mathura's ($500+vat fronts, $440+vat rears) and Automotive Supplies ($570 fronts & $373 rears, V.I.). The price I got at Jurawans was $442 for both the front & rear. All Monroe only - no KYBs or Tokicos anywhere.
Also Southern Sales have gotten the OEM shocks in: $1382 VI front, $1229 VI rear. Your choice as to which you want to buy. |

installed the munroe front shock on the left side of the mazda 3. Had the vehicle aligned after and thus far works great. Quite surpeised how well the car handled after.
For the price, the munroe seems to be a good buy thus far. |

Good to hear, but why the left side only? You should at least change both sides at the same time. Anyway, at least from your review this seems to be a reasonable alternative to Southern Sales.
Personally, I've always preferred KYBs over Munroes, but given the lack of choices we have locally, I went Automotive Supplies to check out the Munroes. Saw the box had something written on it like "the 20,000km shock" or something so, so it seemed to be one of Munroe's basic shock models (I was considering buying them hoping it would have been at least a sensa-trac or something, but didn't see that written anywhere on the box). But glad you're happy with them - that's the important thing.
Anyway, I didn't want to take the risk with those basic Munroes, so I ended up buying a set of 4 KYB GR-2s for my car and are having them shipped in - should have them here by year's end. I'll see how those compare to the OEMs I have. They'll most probably be better, as the shocks on my car now I think are dead LOL. |

| They're in the process of being shipped down by sea right now. Once everything is completed I'll update here with the final costs incurred in shipping them down and getting them cleared thru customs. |

Wow - I forgot about this post.
Sorry - they're not yet installed. I got them shipped in and cleared - just waiting to have some time to have the car down for a day or 2 to do the work by the mechanic. Wasn't able to do it as the start of the year is a busy time for me.
Anyway, getting the shocks in and cleared cost me about TT$1000 in shipping, duties, taxes etc. This is in addition to the cost of the shocks themselves (US$99 x 2 for the fronts, and US$50 x 2 for the rears).
Still came out better than buying the OEMs from Southern Sales, but worse than buying the Munroes locally. Given kriticalkase's review above, the Munroe's may be an option to give serious consideration.
But for me personally, I wanted the KYB GR-2s. Once I get them on the car, I'll give another update (hopefully I'll remember and won't have to be reminded to update the thread again ) |

thanks much for this update!
i think the cost you have given is rather favorable, worthy of considering for those who are interested in bringing in a particular model/brand shock.
thanks again. |
