Didn't see this coming but i wonder how they managed to choose him Confused not to say Force India using Ferrari engines or anything. Other than Fisichella being Italian i see no connection, then again being Italian could have been a major reason, beside the Belgian GP his performances for the season hasn't been good.

i dont think this is a good move for fisi, what happens when massa comes back. Ferrari just want a driver that doesnt make them look too bad. What happens after this season? He runs back to force india?

Ferrari wants to push for a 3rd car next season, so maybe they will keep him.

I'm happy for him, and Italian getting the chance to race for Ferrari for the first time at Monza, how much more of a fairytale can you get?

Jacques Villeneuve has again hinted that he could be back in Formula One next season, confident his fitness won't be a problem.

The 1997 World Champion, who retired from F1 mid-way through the 2005 season, recently confirmed that he is in talks with several teams about a return for the 2010 season.

However, should he make a comeback, the 39-year-old will be the oldest driver on the F1 grid, raising some questions about his level of fitness.

quote from Domenicali :

"We chose Giancarlo, because we think that he can make a significant contribution in terms of points during the finale of this uncertain season," said team boss Stefano Domenicali.

"Furthermore we considered what could be his role inside the team in the near future, also taking this year's experiences into account. He will be the reserve driver in 2010.

Citroen give Loeb drive the green light
Tuesday 8th September 2009

Sebastian Loeb will be afforded the opportunity to race in the Abu Dhabi GP if offered a drive.

The five times World Rally Champion's team, Citroen, have given the driver their blessing to make is his F1 debut in Abu Dhabi as the rally season will be over by then; all he needs now is a race seat.

"I am not a Formula 1 boss, so I have no seat to offer Sebastien," Citroen team principal Olivier Quesnel AFP, "but if someone makes a proposal to Sebastien, Citroen Racing will authorise him for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since the rally season will be over at that date."

With Red Bull one of the Citreon WRC team's primary sponsors, it has been suggested that Loeb would most likely be offered a drive with Red Bull's 'second' team, Scuderia Toro Rosso, but with Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi performing admirably, Loeb may have to wait until next year to get his chance in F1.

The Frenchman has been strongly linked with a place at 2010 newcomers USF1, but with negotiations underway to ensure Loeb remains at Citroen, Quesnel is confident his man wil remain in rallying for the foreseeable future.

"Both parties wish to remain married," Quesnel said. "I am not a gambling man, but I bet Loeb will still be a rally driver next year."

I dun like the Abu Dhabi GP, they took away Montreal but left frikkin Valencia! Lame GP calendar tbh.

anyhow!

4-6 more seats next season (depending if BMW finds a buyer)

the driver line up rumours are gonna be crazy once the season ends.

If Fisi were in a FI he would have gotten pole, or front row for sure.

Oh well, for an Italian I assume racing for Ferrari means more than a potential podium at your home GP.

Lets just hope Kimi doesn't plow into Sutil like he seems to do every time.

And that Lewis doesn't get a penalty for obstructing a flying lap from Buemi in Q1.

hahahaha.... lewis strikes again!

^ and that was the FI fault. I do believe there was an investigation into that, with charges against Sutil.
