most come with the yellow bilstein shocks as it's available as an after market add-on from the dealership in Japan (which most folks take)....copper_shot is correct about the front bumper. They also come with factory 18" rims.

Engine wise they are exactly the same (260HP AT/280HP MT) as the GT, except that the Spec B has a slightly quicker gear ratio and final drive, for better acceleration.

just my $0.02

^^^

i can confirm that one!

Spec-B's also come with the 17's

How could the bilstein shocks be added as an upgrade from the dealership?

Then what is the sense of even naming the car Spec-B? Especially since the only difference is the shocks? Then anyone can make a spec-B out of their GT as the engine is totally the same..... right?

Not entirely.......but they can make it look like one.

monk_t is right. There is little difference between most Spec B's and standard GT's (unlike what some folks would have you believe), other than a few trim options (like 18" rims), and gearing variations.

The GT's can come with yellow Bilsteins. I've seen regular sedan GT's with them. The difference with the Spec B, (subject to correction), is that the struts are ADJUSTABLE on this variant, along with a few other minor changes. Power between the models is about the same also, as the engine is practically identical.

That's about it. The Spec-B denomination has nothing to do with Bilstein struts, but in fact started off in a similar fashion to how the Impreza has it's "Spec C" variant. Wink

In a similar vein, just as Subaru has the Impreza S204 (limited edition-only 400 or so units), they recently released the Legacy S402 (again...limited edition....400 or so units). The Legacy is a serious performance enhancement over the std. GT/Spec B (just as the S204 is superior to a "std" STi), so the naming philosophy, is clearly similar.

^^Oooooookkkkk................ Confused

Regardless, as I said, I'm subject to correction on that. I've only heard that from a Spec B Wagon owner who was showing me his car once. I saw the yellow struts....but never any adjustment knob. So....you all have Spec B's...why not confirm for us?

But I have seen at least one other GT Legacy sedan (silver auto on 17" standard rims), which also had yellow bilstein struts, and a wagon also with them. Neither were SPec B's AFAIK .....so that should further bolster what monk_t was saying.

Is it that far fetched? Think about it....the older twin-turbo Legacy versions (prior to the current model) also hade Bilstein Suspension as optional. Some had it, some didn't.

thank you very much, that adjustment thing sounded so far fetched. The 'B" is all about the suspension upgrade. I hearing things about close ratio gearbox and stuff, this is another one that i doubt...
