Not to worry too much about the transmission, what we have is built like a tank BUT you could put a cooler in if you have the money and want the security.
Btw!!! It would take a lot more than just water/meth to get a legacy to do over 350whp, IMO you covered. |

Bacon we hada find out the cost to go aruba vs colombia first, but i feel we will have a better time in colombia,
Yea Redman as Flex and SpecB said a/t could take rell jammin, adding an external fluid cooler is a very good move, it keeps the tranny from overheating and the fluid to operate in his optimum heat range.. |

| Have you clicked on the link?? The majority of info, is not about their product. Is about tuning, Correct mixtures, what to do and what not to do where WMI is concerned. Also how to maintain your system, what are some good applications, how it affects A/F ratios and also troubleshooting etc....... The infomation can be of great assistance no matter what WMI kit you use............. |

Sure beats the jack issue
SO its TMIC and a w/m kit.
then a tranny cooler
I think that it would be sufficient -I mean its redman car we talking bout

Yup!
You aint go need the tranny cooler anytime soon though. Dont install it until you need it. The thing with tranny coolers is that its aim is to keep the fluid at optimum operating temperature to prevent damage. But if your system isnt going beyond optimum operating temperature, and you install a tranny cooler, it would cool the fluid TOO much which isnt good.
But do the W/M Kit first before the TMIC and see the gains. Chances are if that's enough power for you, you wont need the other stuff.. |

Sounds great to me…. as spec said there is no rush for the cooler as yet.
Btw!! You could actually upgrade your t/mission for better shifting, durability etc....
Doh ask.... You would not need this as yet....not to worry about it...Just change your t/oil more often and on time... |

i will not doubt that it contains valid and useful info.
the reason i questioned the actual independence that is that the site is named waterinjection.info
,
but carries an aquamist URL.
that is suspect in my book.
kinda like a girl online sending you a pic of herself looking like JLo, and when you meet her in person, she is a big square mampie. |

Wow!! I found it...
The Subaru transmission is a technologically advance unit compared to most ones. The 4/5EAT (Electronic Automatic Transmission) uses a TCU (Transmission Control Unit) computer that works together with the ECU to control the shift points and increase fuel economy and transmission life span. Having said all of this (A lot of reading) our transmission can handle 350hp easily (regular t/oil change) but your major enemy would be HEAT, that’s why an oil cooler is important, you can also install and aftermarket transmission mount for better shifting ability.
If you are going for bigger HP here is a list of stuff you can do:
1. Shift kit (modified valve bodies)
2. Bushings need to be replaced to insure that the centerline of the transmission runs in perfect alignment with the centerline of the crankshaft.
3. Pinion shaft, the front differential ring gear and the planetary gear set undergo various metallurgical processes such as heat treating, Meta-Lax stress relieving, and cryogenic treatment (freezing them in liquid nitrogen at -300 degrees Fahrenheit to 'reset' the part's structure on the molecular level).
4. Seals and gaskets are changed to materials that are better able to cope with the heat and stress that is common in high powered applications.
5. Performance clutches and steel reaction plates are installed and their clearances set to much more exacting specifications than those that are used by the factory.
6. Correctly configured torque converter.
7. There are many other stuff that you can do as well.
Disclaimer..
I’m not a mechanic, Just a Subaru enthusiast who reads and asks a lot of questions; I would not be responsible for any damages and I’m always willing to share information…
