so.............the housing on the Mini's key is doing the typical European thing, and disintegrating Confused
I called the dealership, who has advised me that they cannot replace the housing for th ekey, and I need to buy a new key for the princely sum of $2,400.00 plus VAT

My key now started doing this but this at the remote unlock/lock button..But it served its purpose for over 10 yrs.

Hmmm your key cheap man... Laguna key is $3000 and that is with a discount

MG Man, I would take it from the dealer at that price , your key not only open the door but also , most important to start the vehicle .

when you get a new key it will come program to start but not the remote , your local dealer will need to program the remote part.

MG Man, if you are buying this key other than from the dealer ,dont waste your money it will not start you car .

only in T&T is a factory replacement key so bloody expensive
