Karting..........entering the sport

What would be the best way to get involved in Karting competition? I mean besides joining the club, marshalling etc.......from the perspective of someone who has no clue about karts, classes etc...........what would it take for a complete novice with zero wheel-to-wheel competition experience to begin racing?

come up to one of the events and talk to the guys who race....very friendly bunch...Ryan Peyrau allowed myself,crix and Ryan Pinheiro to try his kart for a few laps....Wayne Lee or Ravi Singh are always there...they will give you an idea on the different Kart categories and what the running cost might be....btw there will be a new old rookie driver at this event on Sunday....
