Seeing that intrest is constanly raising for the sport of High Speed rallying, would'nt it be a decent idea to have two exebition runs after the offical even .

In these runs we can have all our drivers give spectators, Media and selected invited officals from the respective sponsor along for the run.

Obviously the run should be a 75% run as we don't want to endanger these "passengers"

As we know there are serval persons seeking entry into our sport, maybe this will assist them in their decision, re. FWD vs AWD, Turbo vs NA etc...

We should also consider having a rally school, maybe having John Powell giving points on LFB (left Foot Braking) and Scandavian Flicks and other driving techniques etc..

James, Barry and myself will tutor on surviving rolling/flipping Very Happy

But seriously, I think now is the time to invest into making 2007 a better year for our sport.

Those of you who read this post and find it a reasonable idea, please leave your opinion and let's work toward adding a new dimension to our sport.

Do remember there is strenght in numbers.

Great idea cuz when u decide u want to get into the sport it have no one to go to I I mean most of these rally people is busy people they have to be to pay for thoes rides so i think its a good idea.Cuz when i was looking for a car advice was hard to come by.... Where to buy how fast to start off so i ended up making all the wrong plans and I have to start over ...... Simple thing like where to buy seats suits harness intercoms the TTRC should have places to send you to buy these things where you get good prices and all cars should have standard stuff when it comes to these things since there are so many brands so many different types of seats intercoms and suits .Not to mention joining the TTRC that should be the easyies thing to do when u decide to get into the sport I having dificulity getting information on doing that..So all that u mentioned is good

.....this had me Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

....but for the idea of rally drivers giving the public/media rides to "get the feel of a rally car", i put that question to various members of the TTRC in this very forum as well as during meetings and events.

infact, i asked flat100 for a ride since last year's international... Very Happy

but i do believe that a lucky few may get the chance for this last event. Razz Razz

AnielKhan, TTRC has a in it's rule book the guidelines for saftey equipment to be used in your competition car.
TTRC cannot tell you what to use but they can certainly guide you.

Your seats should be a dedicated fixed back racing seat.

Harnesses should be at least four points.

Intercoms and helmets are now sold in packages, Sparco, Stillo, Bell and so on now offer some really nice priced packages.

Racing suits should be at least a single layer Nomex or Proban.

Some of these items can actually be had from some of the team who are upgrading.

Places to shop, mostly online, my hints to you
Summit Racing
Demond tweeks
Racer Wholesale
E-Bay.

If you want deals you gotta shop or order through somebody who knows where to get stuff.

I think TTRC should have a downloadable PDF of the membership form on the TTRC www. That way you can print, fill out and bring it with you to an event where you can register.
Talk to Mini, he's a big wig on the TTRC board, he can hook you up.

While this might sound funny it's true.
"There are only two types of rally drivers, those who have rolled, and those who are yet to roll."

Most people do not know what to do or how to react in a roll.

Instint tells them to put their hands on the roof.

WRONG.

Ina roll you can loose your fingers or break your hand with such actions.
You need to cross your hands over your chest in a "X" and pull you legs to you.

There are many other points to ensure you incurr less damage than you're already getting.

Some other points that you should always keep in your head.

Ensure your 5lbs Fire Extinguisher is clamped in place befroe you run.

Do not use a hard clipboard, in a roll this can slit your throat.

NEVER TAKE YOUR HARNESSES FOR GRANTED. These are you life lines, do not take a chance, lock them and tension them .

In my incident, had we decide to run through woithout our gear on we would have be seriuosly injured.

And lastly, never take saftey for granted, never.

The best can crash, ask Tommi Makkinen, marcus Gronholm, Sebastian Loeb etc...

Wagon R, I could give you a co-driver stint for one event next year if you intrested.
Hell I could even give you it this event if the TTRC allows me. We can loan you all the gear, suit and helmet for a few runs in the evening.
It will not be fast as I will be mostly seeking the right setup in competition. but I can assure you you will get some sideways action and flicks.
my offer openif you intrested.

The new cage has a tab for a cam. I am also tryin to buy a onboard monitoring system with broadcast ability. With this my crew can see what's going on from the pits.

Bench... do me a favor... email me a write up with pics of the car (the new and the old one) in various states of trim. Include how long you've been rallying, what got you started, major accomplishments, all your navigators, etc. etc. I looking for 500 words or thereabouts.

sounds like a good plan bench but the hardest task at hand is to get TTRC to agree to this good idea of yours and to do it on time cause we all know that TTRC can not run on time as they should. BTW what's the most reasonable intercom and helmit package one can get for starters.

reasonable is not necessarily best...most guys start off with the OMP system. But many people complain that the insulation on the wires starts fraying after a while.

Richard R has been using the Terraphone for a while. But yuh can't go wrong spending yuh money up front and going with a Peltor or Stilo system.
