I have two 15'' Starsound Digital woofers and a Starsound Digital 5000z amplifier.

I drools....Can you share some info on those rookie classes?Rules etc?

howzit ,
the rookie rulez are the same as your rules. Its IASCA rules.

Are you talking about the Rookie International rules that you see on the scores?
I could be mistaken but Rookie international is only in SA and not recognized worldwide by IASCA? Any IASCA judge please correctly if i am wrong?

There are 2 divisions under the Rookie banner, street and international.

The street division:
sub amp can not exceed 3000w m@x power
1 * 3inch port per driver
a limit of R7000 for subs and sub amp
no flared ports allowed

Rookie international division:
no restriction on the price and size of your amp
1 * 4inch port per driver

For both divisions, no PVC pipe can be used as port and no addition batteries.

I will try and get more info

Sounds like rookie international go by international IASCA rules and street rookie is a local more controlled class..

Nope..

I thought every IASCA country has a price limit in rookie , coz to attract new competitors to the sport , give them an equal playing field.

Na we dont have price limits...We are allowed to use any equipment we want once it is allowed by the rules.

Single amp to pair of subs
14sq of port per sub
No quad coils
One battery in stock position
One run 0awg
Must play music..

Thats basically the restrictions to our rookie classes, there are more but thats whats in my head right now..

So anyone can come with the most expensive DD amplifier and most expensive DD subs can compete in rookie? although the amplifier might get smoked coz of the battery.

^^

yup according to the rules, you could use any amps or subs you want, once its commercially available.

However the battery and port area is a severe limitation in this class

I was wrong , Rookie street is only in SA , and rookie international is where we all can play..thanks for clearing it up.

some impressive scores !

btw - i was wondering how come many of the competitors names look like indian in a south african country ? ... are there alot of indians living\working in south africa ? ..

Howzit Rovin ,
Yes you are right.
To cut a long story short , we are descendants of migrant workers brought to South Africa in the 17th or 18th century , So basically all of the Indians in South Africa are like 5th 6th , generation Indians , who are born in South Africa ,speak English and Afrikaans( Dutch) , and have never even been to India or wherever.. There is a few million Indians in South Africa .
If you ever have to come to South Africa and visit an Indian community you would see every second car that is done up with sound or speed of some sort, going to illegal drags , cruising on the weekend , bumping the sound , checking out the chicks Smile
I see in Trinidad and Tobago is the same , with all the names I see in the SPL scores?

thats really amazing..i was always wondering how trinidadians and south africans have such similar names.. even the same names..i know someone named avinash singh and cloin rooplal..
its really cool how 2 places in completely different parts of the world can be so similar
we have the same history wit our ancestors..our lifestyles are similar an the most amazing thing is that in india the locals doesnt have names like us..i thought that only in trinidad u can find people with names like that...thats really cool..i remember waitching a russel peters comedy epsode he said that he went to south africa an when he came off the plane there were millions of indians...i thought it wasnt true..
i really hope to visit south africa some day
