I agree bout the airbags but the way our ppl drive, i think you need more than airbags.. nothing short of a tank i would say cuz airbags can only do so much. But when I was buying I looked at the Corolla and Lancer (yea i strayed a bit cuz of the civic's price tag). When I called Toyota the Corolla 1.8 was $215,000.00 approx. and the Lancer 2.0 was $205,000.00 approx. The lancer had more hp with 2.0 L putting out 152 hp and the corolla putting out 132 hp with the 1.8L. The civic 1.8l puts out 140hp. I agree the price tag is higher but to be it ended up the better choice. The civic has 17" rims calling a high price of $1,600.00 per rims + vat rubber not included (you gotta source your own). If you got any question feel free to ask.

if you were a salesrep, sheit not the price, ill buy any civic from you. You did well with your post, excellent info Cool

Doesn't the Lancer 2.0 come with 18" wheels, H.I.D. headlights and a double clutch transmission with paddle shifters?

Paddle shifters - yes
I think the 18" is on the GTS
The lights I can't remember think they were halogen with an additional bulb mounted in the corner of the lamp which when cornering are activated to give more light.

Edmunds.com has some really good reviews on these cars which helped when making a choice. Check the site out. Also, consumer reveiw gave the civic better rating than the mitsu. And for 2008 the civic has outsold the corolla in the US. See the link:

http://usnews.rankingsandre...a-s-Best-Selling-Vehicle/

Magazines claim the honda has a better driving experience.

Well my friends bought a 1.6 lancer and got H.I.Ds (works sweet) so I figured it would be standard on the 2.0

I've seen a few driving around with 18", thought that must have been the 2.0... do they sell the GTS here?

we bought one of the 2009 civics last month, used it today to go to the office since my Van went to service

Not a bad car, peppy and comfortable ,my last car was a p12 primera, with a 2.0 engine and the 1.6 civic I think feels just as responsive.
