|
|
Alright, first time ah making ah post in here, but this question has been weighing heavily on my mind for the past week, so ah decide to ask the experts.
I was seriously considering the Swift Sport for solodexing next year. However, after watching the enormous success that Amir has been having, the Ignis cannot be ignored!
Both have very similar Power/weight ratios although the swift is about 300lbs heavier than the Ignis and the wheel base and track dimensions are similar as well. The Swift seems to have the lower center of gravity, but somehow the Ignis still seems to have the advantage (well in Amir's hands anyway) and the Ignis seems to have some more aftermarket parts (please tell me if I am wrong here).
So which is better? Swift or Ignis? Please consider all aspects i.e. parts, maintenance, reliability, aftermarket parts etc... |

depends ....
daily driver plus weekend warrior - Swift sport
because of the much nicer interior and overall better looks
all out race dedicated car - ignis sport
lighter, easier to modify |

^^So I have 2 questions.....
.....wasn't the Ignis sold as the "swift" in other markets? Are the subframes/wheelbase basis of both cars technically the same? |

correct .... the "ignis / ignis sport" was the european name and was branded the swift in japan. but the sub frames are different from the 2004(HTxxx) to the 2005 (ZCxxx) models |

Hmmm. I tend to disagree there. Crap = Nexen, Triangle and stuff like that.
Yuh mean the Neova AD07???
I thought you'd realise that the Neova AD07's are in a completely different class of tyre to the SpMAXX!!! Compare the Neova's to the RE-01R, or Direzza Sport Z1.
For a street tyre my brief experience with the SpMAXX (test drive) was good handling, low noise, and good all round ride. Not as grippy as my current set of Potenza S-03 Pole Positions on my weekend-er, but gr8 still.
True the tyres were on different cars! But say what eh.........
But then again, I'm commenting from a streetability point of view. I imagine your taste is something more for 'dex |

| ^^ traction and tread wear on a tire are manufacture specific .. there is no set standard for them the AA in yoho could be an A in the dunlop and reverse .. |

| I take the SS for the super charger and turbo kit as well as the bigger engine bay for the 1.8 and 2.0 conversions .... not to mentions the full set of suspension parts in aluminum, the world of struts & 6 way adjustable coilovers with adjustable dampers ... then theres the 6 & 4 piston rotors etc .... |

Orrrrr......now THAT you didn't say in the first post....
Then that really sucks! May have something to do with the size (smaller sizes may not have the same ratings of the larger sizes....applies also to speed ratings). |
