Tuners,

I need help in diagnosing this problem i am currently having with my car

Vehicle: 2001 Nissan Wingraod
Mileage: 272000km
Original Engine
Problem: When coming to a stop, vehicle idles very slowly (probably 100rpm) and then idles back to 500rpm.

I've been having this problem a while now, but has become more noticeable now and is annoying

I had serviced the idle valve and still had the same problem

Any advice is apprecaited

Do the scan...but I have that problem all now in my AD. I did not scan it, but I feel it's the MAF in my INTAKE KIT. Mech checked my fuel pump and that's good.

Anil, can a MAF sensor be replaced in an Intake system?

Thanks for the responses so far fellas, another interesting thing is that if im coming to a stop and slip the gear into neutral position the idle doesn't drop down like in the video.

QG, when i get the scan i will let you know if that was the problem so yours can be sorted out also Very Happy

The Ractive Intake System I have has a built in MAF. When that goes bad, can it be changed? I know I can get a MAF for the stock air box that came with the AD, but I swap out my stock box to use the Ractive.

And no scene Rajiv

A scan does not always pint point the exact problem, but is a guide to towards trouble shooting. This is where being a technician becomes interesting. Nothing on the scan means no codes are stored. But we know that it is not normal when an engine idle fluctuates that much. A good start is knowing that no sensor is bad. Sometimes the MAF sensor are defective but does not always show up on the scan. Borrow one from another car if you can and see if this solves your problem. If it does not then we now have to check everything. Start with plugs, filters (including air and intank fuel filter) vacuum hoses and pcv valve. Check all electrical connections and ground wires. An auto electrician can help you here.
Service injectors and trottle body. Make sure your gas tank cover is sealing properly. Do an idle air relearn after servicing the trottle body. Nissans do not self relearn by leaving the car to idle for ten minutes after servicing like other Japanese cars. Take it to a technician if you are not qualified enough to do these test for yourself.
