honda civic not idling on reverse only in drive can any one help

yes when put in reverse and mash the ex the car does shut off

help urself by stating model/engine/tranny/gear box..anything was done 2 the car b4 this started happening?...2ners cant help with that lil info u provided

It is a 96-98 civic with tranny we only scan the car there is no DTC nothing else was done to the car
