June 5, 2008, Daytona Beach FL. - In our continuing effort to serve
industry, IASCA Worldwide is implementing a campaign to stimulate
independent auto sound retailer foot traffic.
"The plan begins with the dealer" said IASCA President Paul Papadeas,
"the independent retail dealer is the pivotal component in our industry
and the final link in the supply chain. Dealers should be equally as
important to suppliers as they need be to the end users of 12 volt
products. In my 35 years as a car audio installer, retailer and
promoter, I have never seen the need for action and industry unity as
great as we need now. Prior to car audio magazines, big box retailers
and well before internet usage, specialty retailers like us had a
following; a community of enthusiasts, who would frequently visit our
stores, hang out and 'talk shop'. Today, a great segment of that
community is in their homes immersed in Facebook and MySpace,
'YouTubing' their way to through the river of good (and sometimes not so
good) information. IASCA's goal is to influence this community of
enthusiasts to revisit these shops to get the 'real deal' experience".
IASCA's new website (www.iasca.com) is focused on building community
with the goals of targeting consumers, becoming the industry portal for
information, raising category awareness and providing independent dealer
exposure. IASCA.com now incorporates and will continue to develop cool
stuff for our visitors including car audio related video searches,
blogs, photo uploads and most importantly, a dealer search engine. The
IASCA community server is tied into a customer relationship management
(CRM) database that, when populated, will help IASCA get hot prospects
into auto sound dealer's doors.
"The store traffic plan is relatively simple and results are promising
if embraced by all" cites Papadeas. "A simplified overview of the plan
begins with dealers entering their store information, populating our
dealer database. Once we get enough dealers to canvas the nation, our
website (and as many other industry websites we can convince to promote
the prospect) will encourage consumers to print a 'free' system
evaluation form while simultaneously printing a list of dealers in their
market area. Consumers take the form to one of the listed dealers for
the free evaluation. The result is foot traffic, a sales opportunity for
dealers and an educational experience for the consumer. The customer's
reward wouldn't only be the free evaluation report; our plan will
solicit support from factories to provide swag for goodie bags we'll
send to the consumer for getting their systems checked out. Factories
spend 100's of thousands of dollars in branded swag they give away every
year; why not put it to better use" asks Papadeas, "never underestimate
the power of a tee-shirt and a key chain".
IASCA encourages independent auto sound dealers to start the action by
entering information into the IASCA dealer search engine by visiting
http://www.iasca.com/forms/dealerform.htm. Dealers simply fill in the
required information for each store location and IASCA will take it from
there. For more information please email memberservices@iasca.com |
