Hyundai Accent sticking in Park and sometimes not cranking ?

wTF is dis ??

Me Hyundai accent seems to have this happen to it... happened 3 times so far on the same hill.

The car park up for a couple hours... come out and can't get the car outta PARK. The button press and it won't move.

I ended up going into the brake release tab and that didn't help until I messed around with a screw driver in there.... eventually it got it out.

Also the car was not starting or cranking at the time... once I released it... it worked fine. So what's going on ? Bad relay or wiring ? Needs some grease somewhere ?

you check the linkage ? or at least that is what i tink its called

where the cable comes across the top of the transmission, its bolted to a kind of bracket in the transmission, some times that works loose and causes problems

When u park, do u first pull up the handbrakes and then put it in park?
If not u are putting some strain on de tranny, that's y it won't shift...as far as not cranking...dunno.

nah... it's not that. The tranny isn't stickin the gear... handbrakes are pulled.
