does anyone knows how to or know any site that can inform me on doing a change on my D15B VTI (3 stage vtec) from using 2 solenoids to 1 solenoid?

I am looking at options made available to me. i am doing a change from auto to manual and i am having probs getting a p2j-003 ecu. so i did a little research and found out that the p28 can be used but it doesnt support 2 vtec solenoids. my only option is to change to 1 solenoid to use this p28 ecu or continue searching for this p2j-003 ecu.

Sure you wanna do that? Alright, 2 wires go form the ecu to the solenoids, a green with yellow stripe controls the 1st solenoid (12v mode to 16v mode) and a red controls the 2nd solenoid ( mild to wild cam profile) the ecu sends a 12v+ to engage these solenoids, so I guess if you cut the green/yellow wire and connect it to a 12v+ going to the solenoid it'll be engaged all the time. don't just tap in the +, it cant go back to the ecu.

Wham, you like to buy gas or what?

I have one of those engines....
I'm using the ecu I got with the engine on an S20 gearbox. The engine was mated to a cvt tranny (multimatic). I think the only difference between the cvt/auto and manual ecu's was the redline. But don't worry, 7400rpm is good n plenty. Trust me.

Yes I am. The biggest issue I suspect arose from that was a hunting idle, the idle would rise and fall. Details sketchy, but the idle air control valve on the manual is 2 wires, while on the auto is 3. ( So i was told) But my mechanic adjusted until the idle problem went away.

Sky,
you think with the manual ecu it would make a big difference with performance compared to the multimatic ecu?
i am affraid of what problem i might encounter and thats why i am trying to get the correct ecu. do u encounter any speed restrictions where the ecu limits u from building top speed?

I does give stock SiR's beans, And I run an ES RS recently and kept up with him. He said we were going 200kmh. ( my speedo stops at 180, the needle past it and kept going)

But yea I'll assume the manual ecu would perform better. Check ANA Sole on the forums, he said he had one a while back.
