well, some would say jus remove ur drain cork and leave it drainin overnight, then refill with same amt of fluid that drained. of course his method does not get out all ur tranny fluid. others wll say go by a reputable transmission man and have it done via a machine, which drains and refills all fluid. and few would say, nah, yuh doh have to change it in ur cars lifetime. what mileage u doin? p.s. i prefer the second option though

puttin it on the pump may cost about 700, that removes all the fluid and then puts clean fluid.
i simply pulled one of the lines on the radiator, put that in a bucket and i think i started the car, allowed all fluid to drain and filled up wit clean fluid for my b14 it took 4-5quarts i think

buy 2-3 extra qts and after what u have has drained run these through till the fluid comes out same colour as went it and fill
don't waste money on machine as there is still contaminations between old and new

i just had mine done professionally cost about 750 .....they hook it up to the machine ....add a flush start the car......shift the gears .....then start the machine ....it removes the old while putting in the new ......just short of 7 quarts ......while the engine is running
then end it off by putting an additive in the mix to extend the life of seals etc....

the tranny oil was black as engine oil when it was drained by the machine ....didn't look that way from the dipstick......and that was only after 60k.....i would definitely stick with having it done professionally!

gears shift now sweet and smooth.....a good investment

any good mechanic can do the DIY method for u
I still won't do it for myself but my mechanic or transmission guy would perform it for me

all i had to do was start and switch off and move the selector all on his guidance

in this day and age can u really afford to spend unnecessary money

go and get it professionally done
and i dont mean with the pump because this does not clean out the cuttings that is trapped in the filter and the magnet
let them take out the sump pan and clean the magnets and change the filter
you will also see how much deposits on the magnet and know if you have a problem

This is a very effective way in draining the tranny. Its the method use by most persons found doing this particular task

so waz the big deal if u get a small amount of contamination between the new and old fluid in the pump..... is not the same as u drain the tranny and mix the old fluid in the torque converter with new fluid....

is a few ounces of fluid between the changes dat bad for ur tranny???
