well to start with who is doing the conversion? you or a mechanic?, if your mechanic, he should be the one telling you what to get, on the other hand if it you, well then you will have to get more research going, do you have the engine already? do you have all the harness and hoses for it? are you going gearbox (presuming yes) or tranny? what gearbox, and do you know if crossmembers and engine mounts (thinking yes here too) need to be rebuilt? I am also presuming you will have to cut your firewall, do you have someone in mind to do a clean rebuild of the firewall? does any area of the engine bay need repairs before you put back in the 20?...
I did a 25DET into a C32 laurel conversion for myself, and from my little and humble experience as a DIY project, the easy part is putting in the engine, the real work (and money) comes in when you have to do the minor little modifications, like sending the driveshaft to the machineshop to lengthen/shorten, fabricating mount brackets, getting someone competent to wire the engine, modifications to the sump pan for clearance, have you looked at what you will need to do to stop the car also?
before I continue babling on an on, I hope this helps get you on your way...
OH and BTW, if it is a DIY project, getting the FSM for your engine is a MUST!!!

| Busted the original diff, and ended up getting another stock C32 diff to rally me through, I am building over a diff using the old banjo and a 720 internals just in case as a backup until I get around to checking your mech friend to install the skyline setup for me, but it will be a month or two till. |
