| your three speakers will be facing three separate directions which would be hard to tune,go with the 6 in the door and a 4 and a tweet in the a pillar (3 way comps) and you'll be ok. |

| cus the 4 would be facing the seats and you'll be losing some of the tones that the other speakers would not have picked up or in lay man's term ,you would not be hearing the full tones of the 4 inch. |

i disagree.
no tones will be lost...as the speaker will still play whatever bandwidth the crossover allows.
now if the OP was interested in imageing, width, height etc, and you said that it MAY be a bit of a challenge to get those right, then i may be inclined a bit to lend support to that.
btw have you ever seen a 4" mounted on an A pillar locally? |

to the OP, the simplest thing is to go with a QUALITY 2 way comp setup.
if you chose a more challenging route....a 3way kit with the midrange woofer mounted in the kickpanel would be the best option.
set ur budget and get the best in you price range, but keep in mind the 3way kit costs more... |

i have used this set in the past. for the price it is a great set. i have a brief review somewhere on this board.
go for it dude....tweet on the a pillar, midrange in the kick panel area, midbass on the lower door. the passive that come with the set is a pretty decent one and does what its supposed to do.
put about 75w on it and you will be set. |

yes..it would defintely help.
the c36 based on my experience is most comfortable when high passed at about 63hz on at least a 12db slope....so you will need something to effectively fill the subbass region below that 60hz.
please post here if you have more questions. there are some other dls uses who can chime in with advise as well. |

ok guy, looking forward to the build pics.
please do your research on proper custom kick panel construction, if you are headed in that direction for your midrange mounting location. |

they recommend a 1.5ft3 enclosure for a 15" on that site, do the specs on that site work good for the subs? |

| If you going with the 4" on the A-pillar chose your products very carefully. Will probably also have to install more than once to get the angle correct. Have had in 2 cars already, and I think it is very difficult to get right. |

What he said................
BTW Roger if you are researching 3 way fronts - any no go locations for a mid-range speaker ?
And if tweets are distant from mids how much is too much ?
Looking at tweets in sail panel and midrange next to midbass in lower front door location. |

^^ well my experience has taught me to keep the midrange as far forward as possible (research pathlength differences)
with respect to the between the tweets and the mid range...it depends on the useable frequency response of the midrange.
i personally would not put a midrange in the lower part of a door.
personally i like my midranges mounted above the dash because i do not use an eq in my car.....so i tend to prefer A-pillar mounted mids. But be aware that this configuration has its inherent issues to overcome, and one must have a substantial amount of control over individual signal intensity and signal arrival time to safely pull it off.
kick mounted mids are usually easier to get right (again, research pathlength differences).
