Hi girls/guys,

I'm doing a full service on my EK3. It came with a JDM D15B motor. I bought some stuff but i'm not sure if i got everything.

Can you comment on my choices and add anything i might have missed? sorry for this being long.

Thanks,
TK

- full seal kit: all oil seals, top and bottom plus the head gasket, valve seals etc
- water pump and seal
- timing belt and tensioner pulley
- plugs (denso iridium power IK22)
- oil filter from honda
- pcv valve from honda
- distributor (honda)
- rotor (honda)
- honda coolant

I'm doing a de-carbonize and injector cleaning by a mechanic who has a special machine for that. he's also got a special machine to pump the coolant out and in. and another one to pump the oil out and in.

- fuel filter: forgot to buy!! OEM? Aftermarket? Where?

- need to replace all the brake fluid ... what brand/type??????
- need to buy some spare pads... EBC or Hawk, model ??????
---------------------------
Tires:

lemme try to help:

pcv valve...dont forget to change the hoses etc

plugs (denso iridium power IK22) <- that's equiv to heat range 7...you need to run the IK20,which is equiv to 6 Cool

buy oem fuel filter...is some generic looking thing anyway. autorama in el socorro has them..i paid $60 for mine

brake fluid -motul fer teh win..teknet has it reasonably priced. use dot 4

pads - oem (nissin) or hawk/ebc..just make sure they're OE spec so they don't chew up your rotors

tires - continental conti sport or bridgestone potenza

as far as tires go:

http://www.tirerack.com/tir...reModel=g-Force+T%2FA+KDW

http://www.tirerack.com/tir...=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+Z

you can get these at the tire shop located at four roads gas station(the one before starlite on the left hand side on the road.

he carries the sumi,bf,direza z1 star spec

http://www.tirerack.com/tir...Kumho&tireModel=Ecsta+SPT

last place i got these Spt's were laughlin and de gannes

those are the best affordable tires .. 550-600 per tire

the bf's i have only been able to find in 205-55-15 .

liked both the spt and the sumitumo .. good steering response ,dry
traction and wet traction

good idea would be to change your clutch depending on milege as well as, mt fluid.. if money permits upgrade those brake lines and get some hawk pads . you can check W2J on the forums .. he has excellent prices and service.

you can also check W2J for motul brake fluid

thank u all..

pcv hoses? where to get dat and wat to ask for?

plugs.. i read that hotter climates and hard running deserves the one i listed. i drive hard all the time. bad habit i know... but the hondas feel nice there.

as for the cost so far... i does try not to count. feel less guilty.. but i really like de car and want to keep it up to mark.

@ paz: tires - i used 4 brand new ecsta spt before i had the dunlops. really good on wet. good on dry too. but i ate them up in three months Sad

and i changed the clutch, PP, bearing and flywheel about 9 mths ago. now running exedy clutch and pp with a fidanza lightweight wheel.

i will check w2j .. thanks
