| That would be incorrect, people think by using a higher wattage bulb that the light will be brighter, it will be but it will also draw more current causing the wires to melt. If you wanna use higher wattage bulbs like 100W unlike stock Nissan 55W then you will need to use relays for your application. Stock 55W bulbs will not cause any melting. |

I hear this alot and I know common sense would say to upgrade and use the relays and such but I strictly believe that saying it like this is overkill. Personally, I have run 100/90 W (actual rating... not 60/55 claiming to be higher) xenon bulbs in the following for the following periods with no signs of melting, no signs of damage etc.:
- Nissan K10 March - stock recommended was 60W - 3 years @ 100W
- Nissan B13 - stock recommended was 60W - abt 1 year @ 100W
- Toyota NZE - stock recommended was 60W - abt 1 year @ 100W
- Toyota AE100 - stock recommended was 60W - 2 years @ 100W
- Mitsu L200 - stock recommended was 60W - 4 years @ 100W
friends car:
- Nissan B12 - 3 years @ 100W
ALL WERE STOCK SOCKETS!
The current draw is not that significant to cause such damage from MY experience. (yes I do alot of night driving.... i kno sumbody is bound to ask)
btw: These PIAA bulbs are the sheit... rell good quality
Does anyone know where I can get PIAA wiper blades? |
