| i drove a 406 with a sr20de already and it was too much weight for that engine vs a p11 chassis so worse yet for a sr20 in a 407. Nice car though but if the tranny fail why spend what the car worth to bring a tranny when you can replace both for $15k including labour. GLWS |

| i still cant believe this it is quite upsetting, city motors warranty doh cover issues like this do you still have the original engine and tranny?.this car should still be under warranty man i hope the tiptronic shifter still inside. I wonder if this can be reconverted, but the cost may be better to leave as is.....btw how long after you had the car did your engine fail? |

I think ppl have the misconception that dropping in a SR20 will magically turn their car into a dragster... its just a normal, mundane 2 litre engine, jus like every other manufacturer makes for their midsized cars. Only when u start talking about SR20-VE, DET or VET can one expect any significant performance boost over the stock setup. A SR20-VE with the M6 CVT tranny would have been the wise choice for this, if a swap was absolutely necessary... better performance and retention of the tiptronic feature |

Making a statement like "A SR20-VE with the M6 CVT tranny would have been the wise choice for this" is rediculous. Do you even knwo how the wiring for the CVT is? well i'll let you know that it's not going to work.. The man made a good choice, i don't think he was looking for racing capability but more for economical comfort. NB a used 407 tranny is 23,000, and a new is 78,000 .... sr20 engine , transplant, wiring would run into +/- 11,000... which one do you prefer?? |

in times like these marketing and public relations score alot of consumer points, Im sure City Motors could have prevented this swap from taking place after all, a 2007 Peugeot sporting a late 80's into early 90's technology SR20DE motor is not what people will look for. Its poor pricing and availability of parts to begin with that cause the swap in the first place and probably lack of due care but damn the car is just over 2 years old!!! It still have Sunny B11's with the original E15 Carb in it and them thing 25 years old. |

You see the problem real is on both sides. One thing city motor failed to mention to ppl who purchase these new aged peugeot is, regular changing of the transmission fluid. When i say regular i mean every 5000 km. SO look at it this way, every time u go to change oil u need to change transmission fluid. Oil and Filter $500, Tranmission fluid (nb u have to use the close loop system to change fluid) $600, labour $100, reseting transmission on ecu $200, which gives you a grand total of = $1400.00. I fthe fluid is not changed regularly, the solenoid in the transmission will go.. this is a sad fact....
So ppl please do your information research on which ever vehicle you decide to purchase, and don't always listen to the dealer, as they some times don't have a clue as well. |

| i was hoping this would have shown up on tuner..i think this was the same 407 in the express classifieds for sale with the SR 20 Engine. The 407 engine & tranny was being offered for sale in the auto parts. |

SR20 in a 407? yuck.
ent this supposed to be under warranty?
the owner of the car should have taken legal action against City Motors/N&M instead of putting a SR20 in this. |
