|
|
here the problem...
the car is a ford focus
was riving normally, and noticed the battery light came on,
but the car feels perfectly fine
drove a lil way and parked and went about my business
and when i came back and started...
everything was fine again...
no light anything...
asked ard and someone said it may be an alternator problem
is this the problem?
do i go to an auto-elec to fix it?
advice?
thanks |

| If the light went back off, it probably means your alternator is faulting or probably your belt may need checking. |

| it could be due to a faulting alternator or probably your belt may need checking. u need to change these belt i think every year cause they tend to get brittle. You can get a treatment to keep it from getting brittle. check it out. |

check for a loose or dirty ground also
that could have caused some of the symptoms |

Well,
Ford has the alternator for $3700 or thereabout
i called a friend of mine who got the exact part for me, (same part number as the ref ford gave me,) still sealed in genuine ford package and he sold it to me for $2300, so i took it from him,
pm me if anyone wants his number, he sells genuine stock parts for all makes and models of cvars |

I get parts from Ebay USA or UK. USA parts are cheaper to buy and ship, but because they never got the 1.6 Zetec engine, some parts aren't available so I get those from the UK.
Also try Cupen's Garage in Petit Valley... they listed in the phone book. They scrapped a couple Focus so they should have an alternator. |
