buh wah d ass

note your fastest time was when i was in the car

while not expereinced with 4 wheel drive ballheads aproach to the corners were not the best comes in too hard too tight and loses time with understeer and correcting of it

my technique of using the hand brake in that situation may not work best for an all wheel drive as there are other advantages that can be used

as everyon says brake straight
ideally you should be accelerating from the apex of the corner and not trying to correct steering

As i described it to Razkal, It is like taking a rubber band and stretching it between your hands, now take six rubber bands together and try and stretch it, that is how it feels, dunno if that description works.

SR, Yuh eh see i talk bout yuh in the first post or what? And yes, correcting for understeer is the problem.

yuh sure its not turning too sharply, (which induces understeer), is not the problem you should be addressing.

Unfortunately baldhead, I haven't been able to observe your runs as well to critique it.....EP and HS were together.

But if what SR says is true, taking the corners too tight is a definate no-no.

Have you tried to apply what we have learnt in school, taking the best racing line?

Good points folks, I tried both approaches.

When I take the turns wider, I lose a lot of time. I guess it is just a matter of finding a better balance.

A certain blue evo driver who beat a certain 11-second evo on a head to head day remarked on the way he drove to victory: "Understeer, give it gas... Oversteer, give it gas."

CBH I think you need to use the ZORCE Laughing The power lies in your car's AYC, TCS and 4WD... You just need to believe Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Seriously though, IMO you backed off too much in areas where the car would easily pull itself out. Despite the wheelspin in 1st, hammer it through the tight turns (once you're not going to hit a cone). I think you could have shaved at least another 1.5 seconds off your best time.

Just keep using your steering and once you are on the gas the car does the rest. At the low speeds of dex, you won't end up in the grass etc.

As much as i was not there to see the runs, I may be able to shed some light.

Many times people try to muscle a powerful car around the course, only to be slower, the principles of momentum still apply.

1st gear is usually unnecessary, and carrying your momentum through the corners is more of an asset. Try to brake once BEFORE the corner and letting off at the speed you want to be at to negotiate the pre-apex section of the corner, then accelerating through the exit.

Many people try to run too deep into the corner, only to sacrifice the exit speed which is your bread and butter in final times. Slow in, fast out.

If you are experiencing too much understeer, try to toe-out your rear to improve cornering. Not much, just maybe .25 degree each side (1/2 degree total toe out). This should make a significant difference in your turn-in.
