| hey wtk i does get 2 much heights in my music. i am runin a 790bt deck clarion pre and cross, rf 600-4, pa 1000db, mb quarts comp in front ref series, Jensen 8 coaxial in the back, and a rf t1 15 when i drop the heights the voice sounds flat what should i do ? |

| Get the music tuned professionally, most likely your cross over points are off. |

| dats a lot of things to tweak too....that deck has a 7band eq....den the preamp...then the crossover... |

thanks i went by the ice factory but they didn't get the heights out i replaced the preamp with a pioneer deq 9200 and it sounds much better now  |

Why don't you keep trying to tune it to your ears?
Start with all your EQs flat and adjust from there. What do you mean your bass sounds 'off'? |

well the bass is not that smooth plus i would like to get someone with a lil more experience than me to share there ideas since i doing most of it myself i don't know if it could sound better  |

| If you mean not smooth as in its response is 'punchier' in some bands and lacking in others that could be due to any bass boost applied in the system such as by raising low frequency bands. |

nah the bass boost is on 0 but I'm not sure how to adjust the low pass and subsonic also the hz on the cross over it have 2 adjustments and that's what i meant blitz jus didn't know how to say it  |

well i did have loud music and i going more to the sq side so i had the equipment already sr i sorta like the deq 9200 got it cheap used but did not get the mic for the auto time alignment still learning about this sq thing i kinda listen to any lil advise i get  |

take ur time & read it over a few times
why u using a cross if amps have its own filters ?
since u new : to be on d safe side u shud have ur SSF set just below d tuning of d box & lpf is like d highest freq u want it to play but its usually at 80hz for most daily sets , SQ men will have it set alot lower because their front speakers will be playing midbass
so basically u setting d operating freq range u want from ur sub... |

hey went and try to fix again and it sounding better set the sub low and the mid bass sounds nice on the doors but on the beginning off the sub bass is a sort off tump is this normal the lpf is about 50 and the ssf is about 35  |

u see d thing is when u new , ppl who feel they know always telling others "boy u have to buy ah preamp & ah cross if u want it to sound good" ...now with ah liitle help from d forum u figured out some stuff on ur own & u helping urself ... |

yeah that's how i end up buying the pre and cross still like to get any other advice that you guys wanna share. The thing is i never really heard an sq car i jus trying to make it sound like a sound surround sound set up an takein any advice i gather  |

| shiva.ramroopsingh, Look at the IASCA site and download a copy of the rules. Read the SQ judging part of it to get an idea of what is listened for when a vehicle is judged. If you have any questions there's more than enough people on the board who can help you. |
