As you all have heard or read, DWO prez Kerry Phillip was in an automobile accident. Contrary to alot of first thoughts, he was not driving his AE86 corolla but on duty driving the CG's toyota hiace. Details are sketchy but the gist of it is he hit the truck head-on, and as typical with those cabins, severe leg injuries is the result. It took the emergency services a couple hours to cut him free, by then he had lost 3 pints of blood and was in critical condition.
Even in his condition though, his demeanor remains Kerry-like (for those who know him), but it will be quite sometime before he fully recovers.

On behalf of DWO, I'd like to say thanks for the support you all have given us and I ask that put in a li'l prayer for his speedy recovery whenever you can.

Thank You,
Devon

Glad to hear he's alive. I know he'll be ok. Even a good driver as him can't get away from those things. After all, accidents are just that, Accidents.

This is very unfortunate and hope and pray that he recovers with hopefully all parts fully mended and functional.

But I now go to my pet concern of having tuners become more involved in donating blood on a regular basis and not only when it is late, after a serious incident.

So those who have asked about donating blood and those who are concerned, I wish you would contact MG Man or myself to do something positive and concrete. Same for the various “groups” and clubs.

Went to visit Kerri today and he's in good spirits. His injuries are that his right leg is broken in 2 places and his right arm had alot of muscle and tissue damage and had to undergo emergency surgery to repair his arm. He's currently at the POS general hospital and is resting fairly comfortably.
Its quite unfortunate as he wasn't at fault, just minding his own business but that's how accidents go and thank God its nothing more.
Thanks for your support again guys.

Wow...now seeing this. Kerry was the reason I got into cars in the first place. We met on a bwee flight returning to Trinidad as I was looking through the booklet of the original Gran Turismo that I had just purchased and was looking forward to playing. He explained all the details about the game and how well it emulated real life physics, weight transfer and so forth. You could tell he was a true enthusiast as we talked for hours about cars...something I knew very little about at the time. We ended up limin a lot after that, taking me for rides in some fun car like a prelude, turbo hyundai scoupe and a 20V corolla. He could always handle himself behind the wheel though I was young enough to know we were going hella fast Laughing I always end up catching him when I'm home be it at an event or on the street. Always a cool fella. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Kerry is on the mend and has broken his right leg in two places. He goes through periods of intense pain, which is not pleasent. However, once not in pain, he is usual cheerful self. Though confined to a bed, He is attemping moving about his fingers and joints when he can.
