from what i've heard, snow tyres is a hard compound tyre and hard compound tyre wears slower than soft compound ones.

best idea is just to check the tyre wear rating on the sidewall, the higher the better

you're wrong

snow tires wear out fast in summer weather, the rubber compounds used are designed for cold temperatures. in hot weather snow tires get soft and sticky and they will wear fast.

also don't forget, you want a good tire for drifting, you want your tires to hook when necessary.

thanx for the correction, it wus jus sumthin i heard. I never tried it.

yeh u want ur tyres to hook, but when ur starting out, ur jus lookin to get as much practice as possible off a set...which usually means sacrificing some grip for durability, not so?

if u look around, there's a model that cames with a CA18DET straight from the factory...2 door too, with a beautiful jun-style wrap around muffler barrel

depends how you start out. i started speed drifting because i had an automatic, no LSD and my e-brake didn't work. i also had no regard for my life, so i'd go stupidly fast in, and either feint or brake drift, so i always kept good tires on my car...i would much rather overhook and spin at 120km/h, than not hook and slide sideways into a fence or ditch.

if you're doing slower drifting you definately need hard compound tires. a friend of mine had tires that were 860 treadwear (i think) on his 20V AE86... those were fun to play with.

I still say KE30, weld up the back doors, stril anything that adds weight (seats, trim, dash etc......drop in any modern EFI RWD engine and with modest power, you can be sideways fast
