Okay so I'm having a discussion with a couple pals, and this came up, if you're interested in getting into drifting locally what is your best bet for a budget project? Consider the following: easiest to get started with out major mods ( suspension doesn't count), available parts, safety and sheer enjoyment
I leaned to the A31 Cefiro, but what would you suggest?

S13 Silvia. Not expensive (unless bought modded which is usually the case), beautiful suspension that can be upgraded/interchanged with other Nissan cars, "easy" swap of an engine, and for the record you'll have bragging rights i.e. one of the most influential cars in drifting as we know it today. Disadvantages? Finding one in good condition that someone is stupid enough to let go...

on a budget, how about a KE30 corolla?
Under 10k, and then you dump 30-40k worth of engine and suspension......strip it out, weld up back doors, cage, graft modern suspension and engine, paint white with flat black bonnet

^^the only hard part is getting a T50 tranny, which is the same g/box the hachis have but not the one the charmant has, which is significantly weaker.

yes the box lancer is a good drift car, a friend of mines tried it on the course and the car going sideways in no time... with a 1800 sirus engine turbo with lsd
for suspension i think you will have to work up something for it..... let me know if you get tru with that...

turbohead, keep the thing SIRUS nah boy, Laughing or even get a EVO 3 engine in there, work up a gear box. Twisted Evil or a Sirus 2000 block with a 4G63T head from the evos (get a cheap one like evo 3) and just do work from there. Very Happy
