Most alarms have a feature that allows for the doors to automatically lock 5 secs after the ignition is turned on and unlock when its switched off. I do not think that this is a car function. Its an alarm feature.

yea i was thinking that. But I could have sworn that before that before I put in the alarm there was auto locks. But I will check it out. The reason I asked is cause the remote door lock remote that I got with the car is not working properly also.

But thanks for the feedback folks...............

well i dunno wat I did or how this happened but wen i press the "lock" botton on the keypad im hearing 2 chirps and but the car isnt locking(but if i open the door i'll hear 4 chirps n the alarm wud go off)...and if i press the "unlock" button im hearing 2 chirps..the car isnt locking,i have to manually lock it!

here's wat I tried and failed so far...i pressed the valet switch..but im not sure im doing it the correct way,and i disconnected both battery terminals for abt 18 hrs to see if it would reset but nothing happened....

Sounds like u gotta reprogram..but i'm not sure if the traditional methods of reprogramming may work. i.e using the valet button and pressing a certain amount of times for different menus and sub-menus.

shaun04,can't remember offhand for your alarm. but look at the manual / brochure that it came with.
will have the method to program whatever features you want (auto door lock in this case.)
