^^^ remember to check the spare as well, tell them you want the number plate mounted on the 2 attachment points on the lower front grill on the bumper it would look better than where they currently drill the center section and install them i sure they never notice that is where it was ment to be attached. also when you drive it check when you power out if it pulling to the left ... the fellas in the US having real problems with that because their trannie does not have LSD, but i belive that the cars we have here came with it at least the GTS , that Kamakazie has came with, did u get hid's on the 2.0? and check the sticky for a few chapters from the service manual.. trying real hard to get the full thing
so car went for service , oil replaced (i see we were charged for 5 units , is 5 qt ah oil that car taking, they must have done a flush),changed oil filter, check & adjusted brakes , re-torqued suspension, aligment done etc.. cost just under $600
which is i find is good price..
what i did not like is when my wife returned home with the car i open the bonnet oil splatered all over the engine room , i get vex cause i trying to keep the car in a showroom clean appearence . plus the oil cap was a little loose, and i assumed that when poring in the oil some fell on the belt and just splatered but to be sure
we called up the company explain the situation , then headed to chaguanas @ 5pm to have them check it .
so as i reach the guy tell me open the bonnet he sprayed a combination of soap and "body prep" (what they use to remove oily substances before painting ) then take a hose and spray dong the engine, all yuh just imagine my shock cause the whole car is electronics , from steering to coil packs to abs computer to fuse box to alternator every thing soak down... so i ask that ok to do the guy told me yes, after that, i realise i knew much more about the car and its workings than this man...
so i went home dry it off and clean back up the engine the soap mixture left some white spots on all the plastic in the engine bay , cleanned that and treated it with some armoral
this morning started the car the "perodic inspection light" flashes so i was like wtf... switch off - start back "beep" wtf light again , so d wife taking the car back to them again good thing she works a few buildings up from diamond....
will keep u guys posted. |

ah must tell all yuh every thing .... lawddddd
a slight tap on the turn signal will turn them on for 5 sec ideal for changing lanes on the highway
the cup holders of the center floor console are further apart so now they can hold his and hers rituals chillers (in the CS it is a fight)
the sun roof to open is 1 touch
the glove box have dampers so you no longer open and and it just drops
the a/c controls has a auto feature that cycles air through the different vents |

SHO:
Very happy that you picked up the new Lancer. I've been trying to preach the amazing cramming of features into this ride.
Firstly, for that periodic inspection, you just hold down the Info button till it resets. It automatically resets to the next service option (BUT i think 10,000KM service interval). I insisted that they give me that option so it works for me.
Outside of that, I've had this CY for about 6 months and absolutely no complaints. Its the roomiest interior ive been in for a while (even beats back A4 Audi for comfort).
I used to cry about the initial acceleration (due to my own withdrawal symptoms) but to be very honest, I've always said it has Extremely Strong mid-range. You feel the cam lobe change over at 5-6K rpm with the onset of MIVEC and the acceleration is seamless.
Another important selling point for me was the strength and rigidity of the entire frame. Everyone who has sat in the car for the 1st time has had to close the doors twice, requires a bit of a tug to close properly.
HIDs are so good, any other car I drive, I squint! the AFS also something I would have taken for granted as unnecessary before, makes the Lady Young and Maracas night driving quite pleasant and effortless.
Didnt know about the License plate placement as it was one of the first batch and I just took whatever they did with it.
And lastly, I also nearly killed myself within the first 1000km on taking some tight corners. I always felt the ride was wayyyyyyyyy too stiff. Needless to say, for first alignment I insisted they check over tyre pressure. Sure enuff - 50psi!!!
Since then, its been adjusted and the handling is superb. On 15,000 Kilos and did my first tyre rotation last two weeks. Next service at 21,000 Kilos. Service Bills so far total under TT$1700.00. I find that very reasonable.
Only unrelated issue Ive had so far is that some COMPLETE JACKA$$ pried out my centre chrome diamond on the rear trunk lid! Couldnt believe it! However, firm has them for TT$225 v.i. and I plan to purchase one later this year just before I sell the car to keep things original.
All in all, excellent purchase. Maybe we can trade notes as we go along. I'm really feeling some Black-Out rear lights as I find the colour to salmon/pinkish for my liking. I have the Cool Silver colour which is one of the top three colours in my opinion (along with the black and the red).

probably i said it wrong. the surrounding colour around the existing lights themselves.
Mazda 3 did it. Initial roll out was pink/salmon coloured rear lights. Recent models (PBZ onward I think) came black background. |

Yes. Religiously.
I was speaking to Service Dept recently and in their opinion, the engine isnt really broken in for full spirited driving till 15,000km. I disagree tho.
Additionally, dont you find that early morning/cold starts produce a better throttle response in take-off and generally more aggressive acceleration? Try it out and see. I find there is a minor delay in take-off when the engine reaches operating temp. I believe I read somewhere in the manual that this is actually something to do with the transmission when cold or hot and the differences in responsiveness. But I'm also thinking the E-Throttle has some connection as well.
Yes, I'd like to also change out those amber park lights. Where did you get the LED's and what exactly did you pick up? Wattage etc.
Thanks for the stickys too! |

Agreed. But this is case once the engine itself is cooled down. So say, early morning, then lunchtime, then when you leave the office at night, etc...at least 3-4 hours in between.
im definitely down for the dyno, though i expect sub-100 numbers. few forums in the US (4b11 option tho..2.0Litre) are already exploring Injen CAI, Mazda 3 designed CAI and straight through mufflers (which apparently stifles 20% of engine power supposedly). And yes, the exhaust pipe diameter is amazing at 2.25". Its one of the first things i noticed.
here is my dilemma tho, the 4g92 (1.6) DOHC MIVEC supposedly pushed 175hp (more like 160hp tho). How the hell a 4A91 (1.5) DOHC MIVEC engine push 109 hp? Besides electronic control, i still feel some waking up is very possible...do I want to attempt? probably not.
yes i would also prefer a fully clear front light area. not that it doesnt look super sexy as is now, but i feel Mitsu will tweak the look in their '09/'10 batches based on feedback.
let me kno on the dyno thing. we can compare the hp loss between new and 15,000KM (no filters changed yet on mine, except oil - basically 2 oil changes to date). |

well i only had the first 1000 km done approaching 2000km
based on the breakin i followed it was only effective for the first 40km which was good cause i got my car with 13 KM on it
March already cramped so lets look at april for the dyno dat good with you?
you might be able to tell me this the 2.0 GTS is that a 1 year only production world wide ? i ask this cause i know its a 1 year only run in the US as the engine i being replaced for 09 with the 2.4 L |

not yet sho, want a early 5000+ license plate... they are at 49xx so i'm waiting till it finish.
| Quote: | | as for the trottle responce early morning will always be better the air is more dense then |
I have a ck4 with a 4g15 DOHC (auto) and right before the temperature reaches half. the response is significantly better after that run is back tuh normal. Even if i don't start the car from say las night till about after 12pm the nex day it will still perform like that. but after that "good pull" thas it for the day
another thing i notice as well, if u drive rel hard. for instance, say you have your foot stick to the floor from sando to grand bazaar. and then foot down again from grand bazaar to diego. that transmission gonna get so hot it will start to act weird until u let it kool. The engine temp. would still read half tho. buh performance would suck until u let it cool down. Not that i ever drove that hard tho
would a transmission cooler help?? |
