that's to release the gear so you can move it from P to R>D>etc

notice you cant move the gear without depressing the brake pedal.

i personally dont like them and for reference, the GT model does not have these strips.

i prefer the sweeping, seamless side profile on the CY, but i guess it serves its purpose.

incidentally, i also noted a PCJ CY today with a centre back seat headrest additional...something new as well.

firmly believe now that the factory sources were completely changed after the first 80 units (PCE/some PCF) were imported from Japan. Signapore maybe (based on higher trim specs).

My Lancer EX was bought in october of 2008. Fully loaded 1.5 with all the flare kit & Spoiler.

My friend bought one a couple month ago, same exact specs.

both cars a identical just different colors.

Both has the same strip on the door and has the center back seat headrest.

As i said the ones without the Ex badge looks like they were manufactured in 2007 hence the minor differences.

As for the 2009 GTS they have a completely different front bumper and rear tail lights.

Maybe we should have this meeting as soon as SHO returns to Trinidad and check out each other's CY. I looking to check him this weekend hopefully.

ok parts /part numbers / prices if you all decide to install the rear sway bar
you will need
2 brackets - MR403646 - $8us FOR BOTH after 7% taxes and 20% export discount
2 end links - MN184194 - $121us For both after 7% taxes and 20% export discount
4 nuts (for end links) - MB288653 - $11us after 7% taxes and 20% export discount
4 bolts (for brackets) - MF241252 - $10us after 7% taxes and 20% export discount
2 bushings (for sway bar) - MN101395 - $18us after 7% taxes and 20% export discount
1 rear sway bar - MN101359 - $120 after 7% taxes and 20% export discount
so thats $288 us , the only thing i did not bring in the suitcase is the rear sway bar which i sent to the sky box and i dont have a shipping and taxes price for that yet

jadez there are distinct differences between the PCE 2008 Japanese models and the Signapore (apparently PCF) models subsequent. on the face, they may appear similar, but i've spent the past year noting the differences, inclusive of performance, etc. by regular visits to the firm.

simple things like engine cover (with MIVEC badging) are absent in the PCE models. the easy flip down iPod ports within the centre console (if you are aware) found in the EX models are completely shut in the PCE versions (and may need to be dremeled out). the door strips are next, then the rear centre headrest absent and finally, my suspicions around the responsiveness of the engine (which may be a subset of driving behaviour tho). but i agree on your point - we do need to look at several of our rides in one places and go over what are the potential differences.

original_lollybob of the two units shown, i'd lean to the silver CY (maybe cuz I have one as well). it looks well maintained from the outside, but can you verify the mileage on it? That price looks fair. the black unit i find the price a bit on the low side, prompting me to believe there are some detracting elements in the sale (maybe rim quality/condition) and maybe ride/suspension issues? i dont kno.

SHO - that weekend may be out for me in the daytime, but I want to make this happen ASAP. I may be able to swing by late evening (4-6pm). let me know if this is a good time frame.
