This may seem like a dumb question, so many pardons in advance! What cleaning procedure (KN) is being referred to? I am familiar with the normal oiling and such..is there another method?? I saw a reference to having someone to apply throttle?
PS. regards the photoshoot, I'm all in!!! |

confirmed - K&N Recharger Kit - costs about $120 or so.
it is the only approved cleaning kit for K&N filters and comes with a spray in/wash out solution for removing dirt/particles/buildup as well as an oiling can for reapplication of the crucial dirt-trapping residue.
dry and dirty K&Ns are just as bad as clogged OEM filters as the pores are slightly larger on the K&N and without the oils, will allow higher levels of dirt into the throttle area.
AND
I just re-read the question posed by nsampath...what SHO and I are referring to is the cleaning of the throttle body of the CY lancers using AMSOIL Power Foam throttle cleaner. I had a recent incident of my TPS being fouled @ 30,000km mileage and the firm couldnt explain why it required servicing that soon (tried to blame it on the k,k, kkk, k & N...).
So I'm yet to head down by SHO and do a full throttle clean out on both our cars, but from the few instances he has tried, he's noticed remarkable results (response wise) from the engine.
SHO! check yuh PM! |

where we getting the AMSOIL Power Foam throttle cleaner to buy in south?

how does one go about performing the cleaning of the throttle body of the CY lancers? |

SHO knows where to get them in Central...not sure about south.
pretty much requires two people - one to keep throttle open (being seated in car - as CY's are electronic TB instead of cable) and the other person systematically emptying contents into system. I imagine rev levels will have to be maintained (to prevent stalling and even combustion of foam).
SHO, i suspect that engine can idle/low rev with the air intake snorkel removed...i could be wrong, but i didnt notice any sensors on the snorkel path pre-throttle body. Can you confirm? |

Guys, check this...how about for the shoot we all wear lancer jerseys with the tagline "CY we're different....OWN the road". This could be printed on the back...and on the front we put the mitsu logo, with our usernames below?? Black jersys of course!! What say you???..... |
