stop now! before you find out the hard way.
in my opinion, yes, it will f*ck things up. think about it, your stock OEM tranny usually never sees redline in each gear unless you are always stomping on the gas every single time u drive (which is impossible).
if u hold on to each gear (or let the tranny coast in the gear), you are simply straining a system that was not designed to operate that way. tranny works well with smooth transistions from gear to gear, whilst matching the engine load (hills, flat road, etc.)
granted - there are shift kits and other modifications you can do to your tranny to stregthen it enough to allow for that sort of usage. I believe Moderator - Dave will have all the answers you seek in that regard! |
Brian speaks from a wealth of experience in that area ....right kiddo? |

i think it has something to do with the alarm system. they installed a switch with an up and down arrow next to the Clifford alarm system light next to the ignition. and it does nothing. i asked my sales person what is it for.. they said they will find out..
i did not even get a user manual .. only got the car last week Tuesday. i almost reach my first 1000KM... i need this power lock fixed. i can't be stretching over to open door for people who coming in meh car... lawwd.

on another note only on saturday i realise that if the doors are lock and you pull the inside drivers door handle the door lock will pop open and you can open the door this only work inside the car and only o the drivers door........ i want to assume that it is a feature to be use in emergency situations |

jadez
something is wrong with that power lock system. let service dept fix it when you send in for 1000km service. apparently the new CYs do not come with factory power locks installed and as such, its installed after by DM locally. so yeh, probably somebody fugged up.
SHO
i love the fact that in the CY, once u jump in a start up, locks auto-lock after 3 secs and when you switch off, same auto-opens. you are right on the opening of the driver side door when inside (but car still on). however, note that if you re-enter car the driver side wont re-lock on its own - you'll have to press the open/close button.
but for me, this car is truly automatic - just start and drive - doors lock on their own, auto headlights, auto wipers...there's very little fidding to do. i am guessing that many other cars sport these lil 'spoil factors', but its refreshing to find them in a mid-sized Japan car.
now to add the 4A91 turbo kit.. |

if you get in early (between 6-7am), you usually get it back by lunch or just after.
DM is one of the few places you can call in a service a day or two before and guaranteed to drive off with your car the same day (for regular servicing)
no hassle - in and out! |
