i asked ronsin1 to check it out for me, but if u can make a pass in i will appreciate it.
basically i want to kno if it is the convex mirrors and not the flat ones
and if i can come down and wait for it.

Got a question.
Compressor in the CS3 making noise.
Mechanic say sounding like the bearing and told me to check an air-con place.
Just wanted to know if this bearing can be replaced and if it is easy to source outside of DM.
If the bearing cannot be replaced, what are my options?
How much for a compressor? New and Foreign Used? |

Bad news
Went by the air-con guy today.
He says it's not a bearing...is the compressor going bad and it's an internal problem.
Only solution is to replace the compressor.
3 options.
1. Used compressor - maybe $1500 - $2000 plus installation of about $500 - $600 (2 hours)
2. Universal compressor (new) - maybe $2500 and another $1000 - $1500 to install (2 - 3 days)
3. New compressor (OEM) - maybe $7000 plus installation of about $500 - $600 (2 hours)
Anybody know where I could get the compressor for the CS3 Lancer repaired? |

venum, I think option #2 includes re-gassing the A/C, plus building brackets and running new hoses.
Option #1 and #3 don't include re-gassing I believe.
venum, you know if these CS3 A/C compressors can be repaired?
Daz rell money to spend for d compressor dred |

Is there a difference in bolt pattern between 01-03 & 04-06 CS
I know the 01-03 CS is 4X100... Was just told that the 04-06 CS carry 4X114? |

04 is 100 AFAIK
But I not gonna jack up mine just to test
It dont mek sense for it to be 114
04 and 06 is same as 01 and 03, just face-lifted
Any of allyuh willing to use a CK2 (4G15) A/C compressor, it may be slightly cheaper
When it comes to auto A/C I ent know much, as I never had to screw with it
Ah still waiting on a certain ex-CS3 owner from Bago to tell meh bout cleaning the cabin filter
But if the bearing bad, say it shell and you can remove it, then go strong
6 years ago my CK2 A/C compressor started making noise when running but cooling normal, today it still making d noise and cooling like normal
When d A/C man explain d complexity of the repair to me and my poor a$$ pocket back then, it was realized to be a case of d candle being more expensive than d funeral
So I just let it be
My point after all that useless banter (come ole fart ah giving yuh one) is that another compressor may work
Look around for one |

No vents under the front seats in mine.
Mih old EK3 had those...kept d amp cool

According to the first A/C guy (Chaguanas) I visited, the compressor gone bad and it is not d bearing as my mechanic suggested. He say it is internal and he can't repair it.
The A/C guy I visit in Chaguanas told me I could get a Universal compressor but he would have to build a bracket and run new hoses etc.
As you on the idea of using a CK compressor, what about another vehicle brand compressor that is a lot cheaper, say from a B14...
ZeroOne suggested a guy who might be able to repair it up POS side, so when I up POS side this week I will check him and see what he could do.
I will keep you all posted.
Let me know if the Nissan idea is plausible. |

I for one will be amused if the B14 compressor works, im sure that the lancer compressor is of a higher quality and built to last longer, but then again that is just speculation not fact.
You could always ask the ac tech when you see him. |

The fact that it come from a B14 means nuttin about its quality, except that it cheaper
If it fitting then use it
Not sure who is the manufacturer of the compressor on eiher, but they should both be japanese
Get one from another orion engine (4G13, 4G15), will be an easier fit |
