Do a scan first to see if any sensor is bad or malfunctioning. If after scanning the car no sensor is bad, replace with a foreign used one.

Breddo, from my experience most of the times its the tranny needing to be replaced. Dont waste time or money. Check a transmission person and swap and go

yep the reverse gear gone through buying a kit to rebuild would be more expensive than buying a new tranny..

before changing the tranny get it scanned, could be a bad solenoid, but most likely tranny needs changing, can't hurt to get the vehicle scanned though because the blinking overdrive light indicates somethings wrong with the tranny.

Just a point to note, reverse is not affected by solenoids, it is purely a hydraulic gear, so if it not working checking 4 solenoids not goin 2 get it to work. Either way it has to come down.
I talking from experience with this same problem. I could only go forward not reverse, an that was a beyotch!!! U never realise how important reverse is until u don't have it.
Simple answer: rebuild or replace |
