Would like some recommendations for a tire brand/'model' that would give a good compromise between price and grip,
must be available in these sizes as well, having trouble locating this size in Michellin Pilots..
215/45/R16 and 245 or 255/45/R16
I've used the Pilots on both my cars and they work excellent imo, for a road tire, lots of grip in dry and wet conditions and tire wears evenly.
tried Nexens on the Corolla...they are a bigger set of crap than the current government. had Kuhmo Ecstas on the Rx7 and they're ok-ish, nothing too impressive...
Any recommendations guys?
prefferably before October 14th

Look for a brand with the lowest Tread ware u can find IMO it will be difficult to find anything under 200 in Trinidad. Most of the "performance" brands go as low as 280-300 but these are most probably all season tires. personally i have no problem with this type of tire as they are a good compromise between cost, grip and life expectancy. All seasons have lower limits so its clear when the car is beginning to loose grip.
If they tires are new the problem will be the height of the tread blocks, u will have to shave the tire to get the best out of it and as far as I know its almost impossible to get tires shaved in TT.
F/used tires are an option but they have been heat cycled so much and are so old that the rubber is hard and IMO they will offer no real benefit to performance other than low first cost. but then again u might get lucky with a decent set.
U can order new tires from Tirerack (along with some l/weight rims) and have them shaved but it will cost.
Other than that get Victors |

| ^^I second that, check Johns in Couva, hmmm seems a lot of ppl know of him, as for lightweight rims, you can order new through some of the powersellers here or go treasure hunting in the bamboo, I do the latter and I've gotten Toms, tuner hart and Volks for practically next to nothing. Let me know your wheel nut spacing (PCD) I'll let you know what I come across |

I wanted to know if anyone passed in tire hunting/shopping and saw any low treadwear 16" tires,
looking for some 255/45/ZR16 and 225/45/ZR16
better yet if anyone has their telphone contact, i'll give them a call first instead of making the trip |

^i have yuh # ryan, headin down there tmrw maybe...
on a side note:
D&Ds opposite grand bazaar on the highway has some decent rims/tyre combos for sale for those looking for a beater set.
spotted some 15"-17" advans (two sets), Work wheels (1set), Volk racing (1 set) and the regular stockers from random vehicles, allgot tires with some decent life left and all are either 5 hole or 4 hole universal.
i may go back for the set of Work 16s this week.
prices not more than 3500, that was for a set of 17" advan lightweights in bridgestone rubber. i doubt that set is still there though |

^ok just called and the set is gone men just not sticking yes
all the 16's are there, they got some 15's and i think either 14's or 13's i didnt really scope them out. ONE of the work wheels is wrapped in a Bridgestone RE01 so seeing as i dont have an LSD, i'm gonna put that tire on my drive wheel |
