maybe its the recirculation a/c switch....when recirc is off, the car will never cool down hence giving u the feeling that the a/c cutting on and off without cooling down the car
switch prolly faulty? |

ok in a good working system you know the compressor will cycle (cuts off and comes back on ) right
well my system does this but the compressor cuts off for a long time so that the interior of the car will get hot.
condensor and radiator fan will remain on even though the compressor cuts off |

if it was working fine before, it could be the pressure sensor on the compressor.
i remember my old 323...the a/c give trouble every day for 2 years... |

I think so too......if the pressures are all good and the temp in car feels good then the switch gone bad,by pass it and see if you get the problem. |

awesomeandre, very good to change from the R12 gas as u are now using a HCFC wihich is environmentally sound and will not deplete the ozone as fast as the R12 which is now iliegal in trinidad to import. went on convention dis week and dat gas according to dupont is good for replacing as it can increase the life of the compressor and the gases are cooler than r12....but so too u hada kno if ur condenser is compatible as there are so many diff condensers out there!!!! But if u'll eva gonna recharge look out for ICERSON MO49 which is from dupont but it wouldnt be in trini so soon!!!!!!
.....jus a little info for alluh fellas...if uh wanna kno anymore jus holla!! |

problem solved
coil on the compressor was overheating and continously blowing a/c fuse |

Is that what the a/c person said??
From your initial post, you said it was turning back on after a while...
If its blowing the fuse (compressor is supposed to be on a relay anyway not a fuse) then it would never have turned back on. |

| Hmm had this same problem once in a B14 with the same engine (GA15DE). I think when the coil starts to go bad the resistance in the coil begins to increase causing the increased current draw which constantly bolws the fuse. I changed the compressor and everything worked fine afterward. |
