Bro, who did the install for you and do you have any pics?, my GV has the steering wheel controls and i really get used to them so is it possible to keep the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket audio setup? my model alsocame with the sub woofer but that is a waste, stock speakers can't take much ... |

~*SiLvA MeRa*~, I had the privilege to hear GVTrini07's install first hand and I was very impressed. and, it's still in transition! Nicely done GVTrini07!
On advise gained from him, yes you can retain the use of your steering controls using a PAC Steering Wheel Radio Control Interface (PAC SWI-X) available from Triple R, Gulf City.
See it here at Crutchfield.com

Countless nights of research and DIY. Did get some help with molding fibreglass kicks etc but basically all done by myself. No I don't do this professionally BTW.
Check the ICE forums there are some great talants in there... trust me!
Steering wheel can be re-wired providing you get a HU with a wired remote feature in it. I change my HU about 2 Years now and steering wheel remote works well no problems. Some cases too well cause now the writing on the control buttons are fading..
All stock speakers/Tweeters in the GV have been changed out. Tweeter now relocated to A-Pillar, an extra pair of speakers in the Kick Panel 12" Subwoofer. Brand in use (Morel) - Dealer is Edhardy on Ice forum. Everything is ran by 3 Ea Amps. As norstar said, I am still working on it, not near perfect sound, but getting closer.
PM me if you need any further info. |

I have some concerns about the off road capablaities of the 4 x 4 model. (My uncle has one (2008) and states that the only gravel this will touch is the heap in his front yard )
I looked under the vehicle (with stick 17" and tyres) and noticed the gear box, transfer case, lower control arms are quite low and can easily be touched by rocks especially the transfer case.
It has no traction control and only the centre diff can lock (4L Lock). The front and rear diffs are like normal open diffs. So if you get in a situation where one wheel on each axel loses traction and spins you are stuck, right ???
Can lockers be purchased for this and where in trinidad? |
