| A little advice please; what do you think is better to buy of the two models (4x4 or 4x2) I'm only in the country every other month so not too much driving and I certainly won't be taking my new SUV offroading... I plan on putting 19 or 20" wheels (not sure what profile tire) Is the 20k more justified for 4x4 model? |

| well I guess that is true.. do you know if 4x4 is much slower than 4x2 and what about more wear on tires? |

| i have the 4x4, but i venture into gravel and mud ever so often... i expect that the 4x2 would be better on fuel though |

| You could check the 2NR Team Loco. His company fabricates bull bars and the like. |

The 4x2 is rear wheel drive and happens to be better on fuel that the 4x4 which is fulltime all-wheel-drive. Outside of handling and gas consumption the rest is mainly all about feature sets:
4x2 base model - 4sp A/T, fabric seats, 2 airbags, 4spk audio & 16" alloys
4x4 base model - 4sp A/T, fabric seats, 2 airbags, 4spk audio & 16" alloys
4x4 "sport" model - 4sp A/T, leather seats, 6 airbags, 7spk audio, SmartPass & 17" alloys
4x4 "luxury" model - 4sp A/T, leather seats, 6 airbags, 7spk audio, SmartPass & 17" alloys, Xenon, sunroof, headlight washers. (Same on V6 "premium" 5sp A/T model).
$199K, $219K, $239K, $249K, $329K. If money isn't an object well........
The 2008 models supposed to be 2.4L equipped. Adding appx $25-30K to price.
If you're gonna "pimp" out your ride with 20s, that kinda eliminates any "real" offroading (based on tyre profile). So do sidesteps, cuz with only 7.9" of clearance (stock), even mounting pavements with sidesteps can be tricky, as I found out.
Accessories: 4x4 Trinidad, Team Loco, AutoAir90, Rick James and Hamza 712-6000
The sunroof would look good with the 20s. |

^^^ that's good info there and pretty much sums it up. Although I'm pretty convinced my van (4x4 fabric) has the 6 speaker (4 door and 2 tweeters) system, the difference in the leather being the sub.
in terms of fuel mileage, I averaged around 19mpg in october, with a high of just under 23mpg and a low of around 16mpg (I had the van idling for like 6 hours at a rally since I needed the 12V power and the AC).
norstar2k, lemme ask you this. Many people have said the sidesteps limits you're off roading capabilities. But I'm seriously thinking about them. You say you had problems.. care to elaborate? maybe in another thread. |

^^^Correct! You loose the height clearance advantage over rocks, holes, depressions, ledges, undulating rocky terrain - typical things you'd expect to just drive over in a sure-footed 4x4!
Check the difference:
With Sidesteps
Without Sidesteps
