Are the country of origin the same (Check the 1st letter on the chassis #)?
The engines should be the same.
I believe the suspension might be different between the 2.5 and 3.0 since the ride is different. Then again I could be wrong.
TL please confirm. |

i found out today TTTL buys their pick ups without warranty in order to cut cost and make a huge profit per vehicle when its sold on the local market. no wonder they give so much trouble on warranty claims since they have to pay "out of pocket" for your warranty issues.
found this out froma former yota technician |

| There must be more to it than just cutting cost ... I heard somewhere that Toyota failed the diesel test down here hence the reason it was so difficult to supply the market when the IMV/Vigo Hilux came out. |

| what we need to find out is if this is the case just for their diesel vehicles or do they do the same thing for their gas vehicles? this is an important topic and the reasons for tttl doing this needs to be known. |

| doesn't make a difference if TTTL buys the units with or without warranty... only thing matters is once they honour the local warranty here in T&T. |

And for them to do so, they need to be doing all the servicing which we all know costs mucho dinero. |

| Recently bought a 3.0l hilux from toyota and in order to keep your warranty you have service with them and it is very costly just for them to change your oil and they keep the van all day. Its pretty much a rip off so i dont service at TTTL so i have no more warranty. If u are getting the hilux elsewhere for a good price take it because the warranty system in toyota is mainly why you buy from the company and its just very costly to keep. |

I won't doubt that most of the other dealers do the same thing - buy without warranty to avail themselves of a low purchase price and then benefit from a high profit when they re-sell
DM and SSL prob do this as well
What they prob do is buy the initial or couple few shipments with warranty and then determine what is most likely to need changing under warranty when these are sold.
Then buy the rest without warranty |
